What is a Parent Teacher Association (PTA)?
The PTA is a parent teacher association that raises funds for our school children. Every term the PTA arrange events for the children/parents and local community.
The type of events that we organise, run and arrange are:
· BroughtonFest – a music event in the summer
· Film Nights
· Pizza and Hot Dog Day
· Christmas Fayre
· School Disco
· And many many more
Who we are?
The PTA consists of a Chair (responsible for leading the committee, setting agenda & manages the meetings), Treasurer (recording all income and expenditure) Secretary (sends out agendas & take minutes) and committee members.
Currently the Chair is Mrs Natalie Fieldhouse, Treasurer is Mrs Lawford-Robson and the Secretary role is vacant.
The PTA works closely with Mr Reed and at the meetings it is decided what the priorities are and how the PTA funds are spent.
Recently we have paid for Spanish lessons, Memory Books for Year 6, Dining Room tables and Renovation of quiet areas.
An annual general meeting is held every September and at this meeting a committee is nominated and elected. Any parent/guardian / grandparents are welcome to attend and we also hold meetings at least twice a term.
What does being on the PTA involve?
If you would like to join the committee then you do need to be available when possible for the meetings that are held approx. twice a term.
We also welcome anyone that can bake a cake for our annual fayres, running a stall, helping for an hour at Pizza day. There are so many different ways that you can help with the PTA & remember every little helps and no experience is required. Just a wish to improve our school and get the best equipment/facilities we can for the children.
