Hi and welcome to our Sports page. Mr Hearn is the Sports Coordinator. This Year we have been looking to build on a successful previous year by introducing new and exciting sporting activities as well as creating new links with sports clubs and Wycombe Abbey School
This term we have also introduced the Daily Mile, which each year group runs a mile at any time of the day. The benefits of this : active lifestyle, active minds and positive learning attitude.
Each Year group has taken part in a different sporting opportunity. These involve as follows
Year 3- Fencing
Year 4- Premier dance which is linked to their topic on stories from other cultures.
Year 5- Lacrosse at Wycombe Abbey
Year 6- Yoga and football run by MK Dons
Each of the new activities have been welcomed with enthusiasm. All children take part in at least two 45 minute sessions of P.E each week. Further improvements to activities include- Lacrosse and Yoga.
Through observations, we have already seen the impact of including a wider variety of sports. Improved participation has lead to a more positive attitude throughout the rest of the school day. Pupil feedback has been really positive!
